As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages our members to be involved in their campus and community. Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, our sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them by hosting and participating in a number of different events.

This year has been full of some many great events!!

This year, we will be participating in Greek Sing 2020! Our girls are putting in so much hard work and are making endless memories during our practices. We hope to win this year and celebrate together at such a great fundraising event. Everyone is passionate about Greek Sing, not only because we're all very competitive but also because it raises money and awareness about a local women's shelter in the Harrisonburg area.

We are excited for this year and to hopefully win it all again!

Last November, we participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's which raises money for Alzheimer's awareness and research. Our chapter was able to raise over $64,000 and this year we upped our goal to $70,000. This is one of our chapter's favorite events and it raises so much money for a cause we are all very passionate about.

Around Christmas time, we all donated and boxed can goods and non-perishable food items to donate to the less fortunate. All of the sororities participated in this and it was a great way to bond with the other organizations on campus while also giving to our local community.

The week of February 18th - February 22nd is our UV Week in which we raise money to donate to the Sigma Kappa Foundation by hosting fun events on campus to involve the rest of the community. This year was a huge success and all of our events ended up being so much fun and raised a lot of money for one of our main philanthropies.

There is an Alumni Brunch on March 17th, 2020 in the basement of the Sigma Kappa House. We are excited to reconnect with our older sisters and share in all the success that they have experienced since graduating from JMU and leaving Sigma Kappa.

Our seniors will be graduating on May 3rd and 4th. We are sad to see them go but so proud of all their accomplishments. They have been an essential part of our chapter's success and we know that they will continue to make a big impact anywhere they go. Congratulations to the Class of 2020!! We love you and will dearly miss you all!!
